January 2013 – Sasol acquires full share ownership of Merisol
The Sasol Group, previously a 50% shareholder in the Merisol Joint Venture, has since 28 December 2012 acquired full share ownership of Merisol by purchasing the remaining 50% shareholding from the Merichem company based in Houston. Sasol strongly supports the Merisol management team in their planned growth strategy and believes that Merisol is ideally positioned in the production and marketing of specialty chemicals products.
Merisol believes that the acquisition by Sasol will be a positive step in the production and marketing of its products and remains committed to provide excellent quality products and service to all its customers globally.
November 2013 - Rebranding Merisol to “Sasol Phenolics”
As communicated in our January 2013 news item, Merisol was acquired by one of our 50% shareholders, the Sasol Group. We have now commenced a process of rebranding to reflect being one of the wholly-owned subsidiaries in the Sasol family. The first step in this rebranding process is to change our logo’s, signage and other visible reflections of our new Sasol identity and have assumed the trading name as “Sasol Phenolics”. Letters to this effect have been sent to our customers and other stakeholders. For contractual purposes, the current Merisol companies will still exist and be the contracting parties until such a time as these are incorporated into Sasol regional legal entities. Further news will follow as we progress with the rebranding process. Questions in this regard can be addressed to the representatives listed for your region.
